Pioneer Pro DJ DDJ-SX2 DJ Controller

pioneer-pro-dj-ddj-sx2-serato-dj-controllerThe DDJ-SX2 DJ controller from Pioneer is built for serious DJs. It’s one of the best Serato DJ controllers on the market because quite frankly, there isn’t much you can’t do with it. It comes with Serato DJ and can be upgraded to Serato DVS if you’d rather use analog turntables or CDJs.

The DDJ-SX2 also comes with dedicated buttons for Serato Flip. If you aren’t familiar with Serato Flip, it’s an expansion pack that allows you to record and play back hot cue sequences in real time. You’ll see the dedicated buttons labeled on the controller as Record, Start, and Slot.

The aluminum jog wheels have a great feel that even scratch DJs can appreciate. The jog wheels also have another feature that most DJs will love – cue countdowns on the cue point markers.

The 16 performance pads have nice bright colors making them easy to use and remain in control. These performance pads align with cue points that you setup in Serato.

The Pioneer Pro DDJ-SX2 DJ Controller is also compatible with rekordbox dj.

Denon DJ MCX8000

Standalone DJ Player and Serato 4-Channel DJ Controller

denon-dj-mcx8000-standalone-serato-dj-controller-frontOne of the beautiful things about the Denon MCX8000 is that it works as a standalone DJ mixer and doesn’t need a computer to function (thanks to Engine 1.5). The two high-resolution displays allow you to control Serato DJ without running the software on your laptop like you typically would. All you need is a flash drive.

Not only is the MCX8000 one of the best Serato DJ controllers because of performance, but right away we noticed how aesthetically pleasing this 4-channel controller is. Everything from the high-resolution displays to the bright LEDs around the jog wheels are really well thought out.

If all of that wasn’t cool enough, the Denon MCX8000 works with Stage LinQ allowing you to synchronize lights, video, and pyro. While most DJs probably aren’t going to need the pyrotechnics compatibility, it’s pretty sweet knowing you can, right?
